Ich habe gelesen, daß diese Strecke mit einem Permit zu machen ist.
Hat das schon mal jemand gemacht ?
Weiß jemand, ob ich dieses Permit schon von Deutschland aus länger im voraus beantragen kann ?
Wieviel Tage muss man wohl rechnen, reichen 3 Tage ?
Was für Übernachtungsmöglichkeiten gibt es unterwegs ?
Wieviel wird mich wohl das Auto mit Fahrer und evtl. Guide kosten ?
Ich weiss, viele spezifische Fragen, aber vielleicht kann ja jemand die ein oder andere Frage beantworten.

As I have written before I did the track the other way, from Mrauk-U to Bagan. I wrote my guide 6 months before I made the trip. It took him 3 months before he had the necessary permits.As it was part of a complete trip by car from Yangon-Ngapali -Mrauk-U- Bagan-Chin State-Bagan-Yangon, I cannot say what the price for only Bagan to Mrauk-U is. The trip from Mrauk-U to Bagan took two full days of driving.We could stay for the night in Magway. By the time I was there in 2008 only two hotels were allowed to take foreigners.One 80 dollars a night and one 30 dollars.I think now the prices will be 40% higher. To make the permit possible a guide has to show a detailed trip proposal to an authority, the chance to get a permit is more likely if the more expensive hotels are included in the proposal. Once you have the permit you can change for cheaper hotels when you are there. The trip I made can only be done in the dry season,the roads are very bad and dusty.
