Auf den ersten Blick scheint das Militärregime alles unter Kontrolle zu haben. Doch in zahlreichen Gegenden wird weitergekämpft. Diese Gebiete sind für Touristen Sperrgebiete. Doch schon öfters sollen Reisende gestoppt worden sein, weil sich der Ort der kampfhandlungen verlegt hat. Wie groß ist die Gefahr in den bewaffneten Konflikt hineinzugeraten?

Die Gefahr ist tatsächlich nicht zu unterschätzen. Unter
http://www.tawmeipa.org finden sich beispielsweise auch  Kriegsberichte. Bei National-Struggle schauen.

3rd Brigade ( Nyaung Lay Bin District)

·        29 9 2002; The KNLA troops clashed with an SPDC troop at Thaw Nyen Dum village. One SPDC soldier was wounded.

The same day at 1314 hours, The KNLA troops attacked with an SPDC at Kwe Ta Ler. One SPDC soldier was wounded.

·        5 10 2002; At 1620 hours, A combine troops of KNLA platoon of local force (2) and the KNLA battalion ambushed SPDC troops at Kwe Sew Kee area. Two SPDC soldier were wounded. At the same day the KNLA troops attacked with SPDC troops at Kaw Day. one SPDC soldier was wounded.

·        6 10 2002; The KNLA troops clashed with an SPDC troop. Two SPDC soldier were wounded. Among the wounded people included a lance corporal.

·        6 10 2002; At 1550 hours, The KNLA troops clashed with SPDC troops  at K' De Mu Dum. casualties are unknown.



4th Brigade ( Mergue/Tovay District)

·        7 10 2002; The KNLA troops clashed with SPDC troops at T' Ka Ta. A SPDC sergeant was killed and a corporal was wounded.

·        13 10 2002; The KNLA troops clashed with SPDC troops at To Ma Kna village. Casualties are unknown. At the same day clashed SPDC troops at Boe Lat Plew village. Casualties on SPDC side are unknown.



2nd Brigade ( Taungoo District)

·        25 9 2002; Two DKBA soldier surrendered to KNLA troops included with their weapons. two weapons were AR and AK.

·        2 10 2002; The KNLA troops clashed with SPDC troops between Klat Soe Kee and Ka Dee Mu Dum . four SPDC soldiers were wounded.

·        6 10 2002; At 0730 hours, The KNLA clashed with SPDC troops at Sa Baw Day area. One SPDC soldier was wounded.



5th Brigade ( Papun District)

·        5 10 2002; The KNLA troops clashed with SPDC troops Ma Taw motor road and Kluw Sit motor road. Casualties are unknown.

·        6 10 2002; The KNLA troops attacked with SPDC troops at Mow Mo Kyo. Casualties are unknown.

·        8 10 2002; The KNLA troops clashed a SPDC's motor near Kluw Sit. Two SPDC soldier were killed. Among the killed people included a soldier's wife. Sixteen were wounded. Among the wounded people included a LIB 19 battalion deputy commander.



7th Brigade ( Pa An District)

·        2 10 2002; At 0900 hours, A combined of KNLA troops battalions 21/22 clashed with SPDC LIB 209 between Ta Ret Po Kwe and Ka Mar Ta. A SPDC soldier was wounded. At the same day, The KNLA guerilla with DKBA troops at Thay  Run Ya. A DKBA soldier was wounded.

·        3 10 2002; The KNLA battalion 101 clashed with SPDC LIB 547 at Tee Po Ksaw village. Four SPDC soldier were wounded.

·        5 10 2002; The KNLA troops clashed with DKBA troops at Mae Plat Toe Kwee Baw Kee. A DKBA soldier was killed.

At the same day at 1800 hours, The KNLA troops guerilla with SPDC LIB 81 beside Thay Doh Kwe river. Two SPDC soldier were wounded.

·        6 10 2002; At 1140 hours, A combined of KNLA troops battalion 21/22 attacked with DKBA 999at Ta Thee Kyo. The KNLA troops got all things were, a AK and it 200 bullets, a holster.

·        7 10 2002; The KNLA troops clashed with DKBA 555 at Kler Day area at Mae Toe Day village. One DKBA soldier was wounded.

·        7 10 2002; The KNLA troops clashed with SPDC troops at Taw Naw Lu twice. Casualties are unknown.

·        8 10 2002; At 1545 hours, The KNLA attacked with DKBA troops and SPDC troops at Ta Ret Po Kwe. Casualties are unknown. 

·        9 10 2002; At 0625 hours, The KNLA battalion 101 attacked with SPDC LIB 231 at Bod Bod motor roads. A SPDC soldier was killed. and the KNLA troops got a (MA 2) and it two holsters, a pair of equipment, hand grenade, 2 bullets of the large weapon, 30 bullets of MA. At the same day, At 0800 hours, The KNLA 7th brigade attacked with SPDC LBI 310/LIB 81 at Lay Gaw. Two SPDC soldier were killed. Among the killed people included a company commander.

Nahe der Grenze von Tong Pha Phung ist es zu einem Feuergefecht gekommen. Die Militärs eröffneten das Feuer auf eine Gruppe Viehhändler. Zwei Viehhändler kamen ums Leben. Der Rest floh. Das Feuergefecht unter anderem mit Einsatz von Mörsern oder Minenwerfern dauerte 20 minuten. Die Militärs versuchten darauf das Vieh einzufangen wurden jedoch von einer Wiederstandsgruppe zurückgeschlagen.
